The point of departure for the Symmtriads was commonplace photography, color or black-and-white, such as shots of trees or flowers. Individual frames were multiplied and combined by the author, forming mirror compositions of four images. This led to ornamental combinations lines and shapes, at times also modified by the application of color or use of color developing agents. The exhibition at Asymmetry Gallery features various experiments highlighting different stages of the artist’s work, among them exceptional solarizations and hand-colored prints. The opening will be accompanied by the screening of experimental abstract films by Vorbrodt shot on 8mm stock.
