The book discusses Polish photography from both historical and problem-oriented perspectives. As with every collection of essays by a single author, that were written over an extended period of time and meant for various audiences, this volume is rich and diverse, shedding light on selected phenomena from a number of angles. Despite being arranged chronologically, the writings are not conceived as a complete and comprehensive reconstruction of the period, rather than that they reflect the broad scholarly fascinations of the author, whose interest spans over a hundred years of Polish photography. This captivating and much anticipated book is a must for all photography enthusiasts and art history students.
